CICS 1 - Introduction to CICS

CICS Stands for CUSTOMER INFORMATION CONTROL SYSTEM

Any mainframe application is mainly divided into Batch & Online.
 
Multiple batch environments, multiple online environments can be created for different modules large size applications.

MF        =     JOB                       +     TRANSACTIONS
             Contains Batch pgms           Contain online pgms

Online system consist of Transactions,“ Transaction is a logical unit of Work  “ i.e. inserting EMP details, updating emp details, deleting emp details.

Transactions are 2 types.

1. User- define transaction
2. System defined transaction.
